A beautiful gift bag containing native wildflower seed balls complete with message card – a thoughtful gift for anyone celebrating a birthday.

Wildflower Seed Balls

Each gift bag includes 10 miniature seed balls, embedded with hundreds of wildflowers seeds designed specifically to attract bees and butterflies. They are handmade in the UK using a mix of clay, peat-free compost, UK native seeds, chilli powder & water.

The seed balls are wrapped in an eco-friendly glassine envelope and sealed with a ‘handmade with love’ sticker. They come presented in a natural hessian gift bag with a ‘Just For You’ gift tag containing growing instructions.

Instructions

Scatter seed balls, approx. 10cm apart, onto clear (not too overgrown) areas between Spring and Autumn. Also great for pots or borders, they like a sunny/partial sunny position. Plant whole on top of soil and water. Wildflowers grow best in low nutrient soil. If planting in Autumn, cover seed balls over with a thin layer of soil for extra protection. 

Planting in Spring

The annual species will flower the year planted from mid/late spring through summer. The perennial species will flower the following year from Spring onwards, along with some of the annuals which should have self-seeded from the previous season.

Planting in Autumn

Both annuals and perennials will start to germinate from spring onwards of the following year.

For all types of wildflowers, allow the growth to die back after flowering before clearing the area. They will then have the chance to self-seed.

Your seed balls can be left alone and once the conditions are right they will start to germinate. To help with germination, from Spring onwards (particularly during dry periods), water regularly. Without rain/water the seed balls will not disperse the seeds, preventing growth.

Wildflowers will develop at different times and can take 2-6 weeks to germinate during growing season.
